Roadtrip mit mein eltern '10. Day #4 Cannes and Lyon

The next morning we woke up to a picture perfect hot Cannes day.  Why we only stayed here for one evening is beyond me and I hope to go back again.  It was very hard to leave especially after we stuck our feet in the warm Mediterranean water!

When we arrived at the main strip there was a whole parade celebrating the various wars.  Lots of American soldiers and people dressed in period costumes with period cars.  No idea why.

For the record - gross!  Dad bravely walks barefoot to keep his shoes sand free.  yuck.

One of the reasons I love France is that it's topography, culture and people are as varied as in the US just more compact.  We drove from the palm-treed beach, to what looked like the American South West, to flat plains.  Viva France!

Then we reached Lyon.  An add-on city from me and definitely glad we stopped.  Super cute and lovely French city.

While we were up at the Church on the top of the hill we also stopped at a recently uncovered Roman theater.  Super cool and still working archeological site.

Dad felt it was necessary to give everyone a show on the old stage.

Then we found this crazy shop with miniature scenes and models from sci-fi movies.  Weird.

 What, what!  Another unicorn.

Then we were off to find our hotel in Geneva....
