Rain, Beer, and Rides: Team Berg 2011

Each June, the city of Erlangen, just north of Nurnberg hosts The Berg Fest.  It's when they open up the beer cellars built into the hillsides (for cool storage) for a full beer festival with rides, games, food stalls, live music and lots and lots of drinking of Maß's of beir.  It goes on for about two weeks, and we always book a table for the work team for one night.

Maria, Marshall, Andrea, and Anja

Me and Terrence.

Our tables were very close to the live band stage.  Maria is already making friends w/ the guitar player.  It's all a rouse to get us on stage.

Thomas working on his dance moves.

Ricardo is ready to go.  Standard double Maß.
And then it started to pour....
Pascal in Bolt pose.

Super dork.

And slowly we start to become part of the band...

It's POURING.  Cats, Dogs, and wet t-shirts.

Did you go swimming?  Did you take a bath?  Nope, wrinkling fingers due to rain.

My intern Eva and Ricardo.

Hooray, Thomas showed up!

This is when Andrea almost got punched in the face.  German men do not like it when you pretend to pose with them.

Having so much fun we're giddy.

Some people where the traditional lederhosen and dirnles.

 Air guitar....

Love my team!

It is filthy out.  Wet, muddy, overall disgusting.

While I would probably not ride a roller coaster at a pop-up fair in the rain in most countries, I feel safe with the standards of German engineering to do so here.  When Maria tells us she's afraid of rides, then we are definitely going.  She never should have told Andrea and I....

Andrea is ready to rock and roll.

View from the top.

She made it!

The professional photo....our last stop before heading home.

Outings with this group are always epic and ridiculous and this Berg was no exception.  Such a fun night!
